Daniela Ionescu

Biografie:

Professor in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, since 2014, Daniela Ionescu received her medical degree in 1989 at the same university. She spent time abroad as visiting fellow in Leeds (1 year), and had exchanges/professional visits in Plymouth and Cambridge-UK, Rouen and Paris- France and for 3 times in Tel Aviv-Israel. Currently, Head of Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania and of Clinical Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Institute for Gastroenterology and Hepatology, in Cluj-Napoca (since 2019) where she currently works as anesthesiologist and intensivist.

She is member of the Board of Romanian Society of Anesthesia and Intensive Care (since 2002), member of Outcome Research Consortium, Cleveland, USA. She is also chair of Onco-anaesthesia group- ESAIC since 2023 and of Association for Research in Anesthesia and Intensive Care-Cluj-Napoca. Member of steering committee of numerous European multicentric studies, funded by ESAIC. Most recently, she is Member of Nomination Committee of ESAIC.

Daniela Ionescu authored and co-authored over 160 publications with over 90 in ISI indexed journals. Her Hirsh index (ISI Web of Science) is 22.

Her main research interests include influence of perioperative factors and anesthetic interventions on short and long-term outcome in cancer patients, hemodynamic monitoring (in cirrhotic patients), bacterial resistance in ICU, PBM implementation.

Prof Ionescu was invited speaker to numerous international anesthesia meetings, like Euroanaesthesia, Anesthesiology, ICISA, etc.
