Dr. Ion Chesov is an anesthesiologist–intensivist and educator from the Republic of Moldova. He serves as President of the Society of Anaesthesiology and Reanimatology of Moldova (SARRM) and Head of the Valeriu Ghereg Clinic of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Gheorghe Paladi Chisinau Clinical Hospital. As a WHO Country Office Clinical Management Consultant, he leads national and regional initiatives in emergency and critical care, trauma, and patient safety.

Dr. Chesov actively engaged in simulation-based education and health-system capacity building across Eastern Europe and Central Asia. He is also a member of the Republic of Moldova Ministry of Health Expert Commission for Anesthesia and Intensive Care and Commission for Recognition of Postgraduate Training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

His professional work focuses on strengthening clinical preparedness, advancing medical education, and fostering international collaboration in anesthesiology and critical care.
